Marleen MacDonald-Hubley has been interested in the history of Antigonish County for many years. In 2000 she finally began tracing her family genealogy and, with a move back to Antigonish in 2002, she launched herself into becoming familiar with the local sources of information. She began volunteering at the Antigonish Heritage Museum in 2003 doing research, transcribing records, photographing physical archives and various other projects.
Marleen has initiated a number of personal interest research projects like transcribing the St. Joseph’s Church records, photographing and transcribing several Catholic cemeteries and historical writing, and taking on research for others interested in tracing their family history in the Antigonish area. She is also interested in enhancing old family photographs for herself and for others.
Marleen is a current member of the Antigonish Heritage Museum and the Genealogical Association of Nova Scotia (GANS).
